The NBFC, AMU, will finance the buses, marking a key milestone in India’s journey towards eco-friendly mobility.

The new electric buses are equipped with top-notch safety and comfort features, including CCTV cameras, real-time tracking, and a dedicated “Bus Buddy” to assist passengers.

In a major move towards sustainable transport, LeafyBus, an electric bus operator from New Delhi, has partnered with AMU to launch its first fleet of 10 electric buses for inter-city travel.

Funded by a non-banking financial company (NBFC), these buses will initially operate on busy routes like the Delhi-Dehradun corridor, paving the way for greener mobility in India.

This partnership highlights India’s commitment to sustainable transport, especially in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. By focusing on high-demand routes, LeafyBus and AMU aim to cut down the carbon footprint linked to long-distance travel while offering passengers an affordable transport option.

The new electric buses are packed with features that prioritize passenger safety and comfort. Each bus includes CCTV surveillance and real-time tracking, along with a “Bus Buddy” to assist travelers. To ensure top-notch safety, the buses are equipped with Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), all while maintaining a clean and cozy interior for a smooth journey.

Rohan Dewan, Founder and CEO of LeafyBus, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “Partnering with AMU helps us get closer to this goal by making it easier for people to travel between cities in an eco-friendly way.”

Nehal Gupta, Founder and Managing Director of Accelerated Money For U, added, “We are delighted to assist the purchase of the first batch of 10 electric buses for inter-city operations by Leafybus.”

In addition to this partnership, LeafyBus is also working with JBM Electric Vehicles (P) Ltd. They plan to acquire a total of 200 electric buses, with 50 set to be introduced within the first year.
