A MAN has admitted murdering a mum who was knifed to death in front of her children.
Perseverance Ncube, 35, was found with serious injuries in Salford in November.
Obert Moyo, 45, today pleaded guilty to murder when he appeared at Manchester Crown Court on what was set to the first day of his trial.
He was also accused of possession of an offensive weapon, named in the charge as a “skewer”, but this was left to lie on the file.
Screams were heard as Perseverance, known as Percy to her friends, raced out of the house in a desperate bid to escape.
She collapsed in the street after suffering a single stab wound to the chest and later died in hospital.
Moyo was arrested after fleeing the scene in Little Hulton.
Police later revealed the attack was “targeted” and confirmed the pair were known to each other.
Paying tribute, Perseverance’s family said: “It is with immense pain that we say goodbye to Perseverance Ncube, also known as Percy to her loved ones.
“She was a loving and devoted mother who lived for her children, family, and friends.
“Percy was an active member of her church and had created a beautiful community for herself and her children.
“Percy had just celebrated her 35th birthday in October, and her passing has left us with an immeasurable sense of loss.
“Our focus now is on supporting her children as they continue their journey without their mother.
“With love from Percy’s family.”
Moyo was remanded into custody to be sentenced tomorrow.
