Abhishek Banerjee chooses which among his films will he watch first today – Stree 2 or ‘Vedaa’
On Indpendence day, movie lovers can look forward to the release of three highly anticipated Hindi films – ‘Stree 2’, ‘Vedaa’, and ‘Khel Khel Mein’. Abhishek Banerjee, who appears in both ‘Stree 2’ and ‘Vedaa’, revealed which film he would choose to watch first, but did so with an unexpected twist. The actor pointed out that the characters in ‘Stree 2’ and ‘Vedaa’ are very different and come from distinct genres. When asked which film he would choose to watch first, Abhishek joked that he might need a split screen to watch both films at the same time. After a laugh, he mentioned that he would probably start with ‘Khel Khel Mein’.
Akshay Kumar’s next film after the critically acclaimed ‘Sarfira’ is set for release today, on Independence day. Titled ‘Khel Khel Mein’, the film is a remake of ‘Perfect Strangers’ and also stars Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal and Ammy Virk. It’s a fun comedy which is getting some good early reviews. ‘Khel Khel Mein’ revolves around seven friends who gather for a dinner party, but they decide to play a game which brings out some secrets, interesting twists and a lot of laughter. This can be a refreshing change for the audience, as we have not seen such a film in a while. However, it’s clashing at the box office today with ‘Vedaa’ and ‘Stree 2’. Vedaa is an action drama which breaks stereotypes in the society and the caste discrimination which exists for years now. It stars Sharvari Wagh and John Abraham who plays her mentor in the movie. ‘Vedaa’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’ both belong to very different genres and have generated good buzz, yet, it’s less compared to ‘Stree 2’ starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. As per the early trends, the advance bookings for ‘Vedaa’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’ are quite low as of now, within the Rs 1 crore mark, however both these films can be expected to jump over the Raksha bandhan weekend through positive word of mouth. Independence Day clashes are quite well known, and here’s another one. While we shall wait for who wins, the industry on the whole will be very happy if all the movies do well. ‘Khel Khel Mein’ is directed by Mudassar Aziz while ‘Vedaa’ is directed by Nikkhil Advani
