Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 Contestant Aditi Sharma Reveals She Was ‘Exploited’ in Beginning of Career: ‘It Was Tough…’ | Exclusive

In an exclusive interview with India.com, Aditi Sharma opened up about the challenges she face at the starting of her career.

Another season of Rohit Shetty’s adventure-based show, Khatron Ke Khiladi, is all set to go on air on July 27, 2024. The promo of Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 14 has left all venturesome fans on a cliff edge. As the show is set to begin in a few days, Aditi Sharma, who will be one of the contestants, opened up about her experience in KKK 14, working with Rohit Shetty, and overcoming fears throughout the season.

In an exclusive interview with india.com, Aditi was also asked about the challenges she faced when she started her acting journey. Sharma began her career in the entertainment industry in 2018 when she made her debut in Kaleerein. Over the past seven years, she has featured in several soap operas, web series, and music videos. Now, as she embarks on a new journey with Rohit Shetty’s reality show, Aditi revealed that the picture has not always been rosy for her. The actress said that initially when she started her career, she faced exploitation in terms of work hours and low pay.

When Aditi was asked if she faced the same issues that many actors are now opening up about, such as bad experiences on TV sets and salary issues, she replied, “Initially, yes, there was a lot of exploitation in terms of timing, workload, pressure, and shift hours. It was tough. I experienced it firsthand. But, as an actor, this challenge is not limited to TV, web series, or film. It’s present in every field, not just in the industry but wherever you begin your journey. You often get paid less, work longer hours, and have to put in a lot of effort. This is true everywhere, not just in the television or media industry.”

Aditi further added, “When you are new, you might not express these issues much because you are there for the experience and to learn from it. However, as you grow, you realise which areas you want to focus on in the future and become more vocal about it. You have to take a stand and excel in your work to the point where people can’t ignore or take you for granted. Setting boundaries and expressing issues is crucial.”

She concluded by saying, “I have done that, and by God’s grace, it has worked in my favour. I have established my boundaries regarding working hours, minimum wages, and other requirements. If these terms are acceptable, then we can collaborate, if not, that’s fine too. It’s all about setting boundaries and standing by them.”

This is not the first time an actor has opened up about unpaid salaries, dirty sets, harassment, and threats. Smriti Irani, who was the face of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, had voiced her opinions on the same issues. Recently, in May, Krishna Mukherjee alleged that she was harassed by the production team of Shubh Shagun. The actress said that she had been waiting for her dues to be cleared for a year and a half.
