Katrina Kaif Deepfake Controversy: After Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif is another Bollywood star who has fallen victim to a deepfake plot. In the altered video, Katrina speaks French while talking about Bina’s ‘Excellent Book.’ The caption on the viral edited video read, “Both Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan attended the book launch of Silent Sentinels of Ranthambhore by Bina Kak. Salman and Katrina are very close to her from their Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya movie. She played Salman’s mother in that movie. Disclaimer: The French voiceover is AI-generated but the speech hasn’t been morphed or twisted, it is the exact the same as her original speech (sic).”
Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan were present at the Mumbai book launch of Bina Kak’s book, Silent Sentinels of Ranthambhore, in 2017. Salim Khan, a seasoned screenwriter, who is Salman’s father, attended the book launch with the stars. A video of Katrina from the occasion was recently released on her fan page. In it, the actor can be heard speaking French well, although with the aid of artificial intelligence.

Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh in an edited video that became popular on social media recently. In the deepfake film, the actors can be seen supporting the opposition Congress party in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections and criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to Reuters.
Deepfakes are produced using computer algorithms and many photos of the same individual, explained Mumbai DCP Datta Nalawade. Social media platforms have responded to the spread of these films by taking down some of them while leaving others up for viewing.
On the work front, Katrina Kaif starred in the 2024 film Merry Christmas in Tamil and Hindi. The bilingual noir film starred Vijay Sethupathi in a significant role.
