LONDON — Kate Middleton is slowly returning back to her official royal duties.
The Princess of Wales has stepped out for the men’s finals at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, where she’s a patron of the All England Tennis and Croquet Club wearing a purple dress from British brand Safiyaa.
Middleton made her first public appearance at this year’s Trooping the Colour last month, her last public appearance before that as a member of the British royal family was on Christmas Day last year.

The princess took to social media last month to share the announcement of her slow return to the public eye while undergoing treatment for her cancer diagnosis. In a statement, she expressed her gratitude for the support she’s received and offered an update on her health.
“I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times,” she said.
Her statement also featured an image taken of her by photographer Matt Porteous. In the photograph, she’s standing outside by a large tree and looking skyward wearing dark blue jeans, a white shirt and a taupe blazer.
It has become tradition for the Princess of Wales to attend Wimbledon Championships, often sitting on games championing young talent and mingling with tennis players such as Roger Federer in the royal box on center court.
At last year’s Wimbledon games, she wore a pastel midi dress from Self-Portrait, which featured a short sleeve blazer-inspired bouclé bodice and a pleated chiffon skirt to the women’s finals followed by a midi dress in darker, emerald shade from Roland Mouret to the men’s finals.
