Saif Ali Khan explained that when he heard the screams of his nurse, he and Kareena ran toward Jahangir’s room
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been questioned by Mumbai’s Bandra Police in connection with a robbery attempt and knife attack. The police have recorded his statement. Saif reported that on the night of January 16, he and his wife Kareena Kapoor were in their bedroom on the 11th floor when they heard screams from their nurse, Eliyamma Philip. Saif stated that he caught hold of the attacker and restrained him. During the struggle, the attacker stabbed him several times on his back, neck, and other areas.
In his statement, Saif Ali Khan explained that when he heard the screams of his nurse, he and Kareena ran toward Jahangir’s room, where Eliyamma also slept. There, they saw a stranger, and Jahangir was crying. Saif said that when the attacker stabbed him, he was badly injured but somehow managed to free himself and push the attacker back. In the meantime, his nurse took Jahangir out of the room and locked him safely away. Saif stated that everyone was in shock and fear, wondering how the intruder managed to enter the house. He also mentioned that the attacker had assaulted Philip as well.
The intruder had demanded Rs 1 crore from the house help.
Saif Ali Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in the early hours after the incident. Doctors disclosed that one of the stab wounds came dangerously close to his spinal cord, missing it by just 2 millimetres. He received plastic surgery for injuries to his neck and arm and was discharged on January 21.
