Karan Singh Grover Calls Daughter Devi a ‘Fighter’ as He Recalls About Her Open-Heart Surgery

Karan Singh Grover recently opened up about one of the toughest times in his life. The actor recalled that when his daughter Devi was a newborn, she had to undergo open-heart surgery. In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Karan shared that he and his wife Bipasha Basu went through challenging moments when Devi was left with a large scar on her body post-operation.

When Karan was asked what it means to be a fighter and if he has ever faced an adverse situation from which he emerged as a winner, he responded, “Something or the other keeps happening. I am very lucky that nothing very bad has happened in my life. But there was a time when we faced a very big problem with our daughter. That time was very difficult for us. My daughter had a serious health problem, and what she suffered during that time is hard to describe in words.”

He further said, “My daughter is a true fighter. She has a long scar on her chest that extends down to her stomach. Whatever we think and achieve in our lives is nothing compared to her. Whatever she and her mother (Bipasha Basu) have gone through cannot be compared. Nothing like this has happened in my life; I am very lucky. My daughter has proven that she is a true fighter.”

Bipasha Basu has also spoken about Devi’s heart condition. During an Instagram interaction with Neha Dhupia, the Alone actress got emotional and said, “Our journey has been very different from that of any normal mother and father; it has been a lot tougher than the smile that I have on my face right now. I would not wish this on any mother. For a new mother, when you get to know that… I got to know on the third day after having a baby that our baby was born with two holes in her heart. I thought I wouldn’t share this, but I’m sharing this because I feel that there are a lot of mothers who helped me in this journey, and it was very difficult to find those mothers…”

Talking about Karan and Bipasha’s relationship, the couple met on the sets of Alone and eventually fell in love. Later in 2016, they made their relationship official and got married. After six years of marriage, on November 12, 2022, the couple was blessed with a baby girl, whom they named Devi. Karan has been married three times. His first wife was Shraddha Nigam, and his second wife was Jennifer Winget.
