She shared a behind-the-scenes photo with R Madhavan, leading fans to speculate a ‘Tanu Weds Manu 3’ collaboration. However, they are actually teaming up for a new pan-India psychological thriller, announced by Kangana in 2023.
Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a photo from the set of her upcoming film with R Madhavan. The image features a clapperboard for the untitled project, noting details such as “Date Jan 25, Day… Scene No: 25… Shot 10… Take 1.” Both Madhavan and Kangana’s names are displayed, along with additional information: “Production No: 18. A film by Vijay produced by R. Ravindran. DOP: Nirav Shah.” This film is not Tanu Weds Manu but rather a pan-India psychological thriller that Kangana announced two years ago. Directed by Vijay, known for Thalaivii, Kangana wrote, “Nothing is more delightful than being on a film set.”
In 2023, Ranaut shared a post on X (previously Twitter), announcing that the production had begun in Chennai. She wrote, “Today in Chennai we started filming our new film, a psychological thriller. Other details coming soon. For now need all your support and blessings for this very unusual and exciting script”.
Recently, in an interview with Indian Express, Madhavan addressed rumors regarding ‘Tanu Weds Manu 3’ with Kangana. He stated that he hadn’t heard any scripts and hinted that he might have been replaced in the film. Madhavan expressed uncertainty, saying, “As much as I would like to talk about it, I have no idea.” He noted that the discussions have only surfaced on Instagram, and neither director Aanand L Rai nor anyone else has approached him about the sequel. Madhavan added that he had no clue about the script. Maybe he is not in it. Maybe they’ve replaced him, the actor added.
