Actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna recently achieved a hat-trick victory in Hindupur in the Andhra Pradesh elections. His co-star, actor Kajal Aggarwal, took to X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate him and express her admiration for his impressive win. She extended her congratulations, attributing Balakrishna’s victory to the ‘unparalleled love’ he received from the public. Aggarwal wrote, “Congratulations #NandamuriBalakrishna Garu for the landslide victory. Your hard work, dedication, and vision have earned you this unparalleled love from the masses.”

However, Kajal’s supportive post received mixed reactions on social media. While many fans appreciated her gesture, some reminded her of Balakrishna’s recent controversial behaviour with actor Anjali. At a recent promotional event, Balakrishna was seen pushing the actor on stage, in a video that went viral on social media. One Twitter user responded to Kajal’s tweet, saying, “And this is the same person who misbehaved a couple of days back with a fellow artist, remember that.” Another user commented, “Ewwww that guy.” The third person wrote, “What a waste.”
Actor Ram Pothineni also extended his congratulations to Balakrishna, Pawan Kalyan, and Chandrababu Naidu. He wrote, “The people of AP have spoken!! Congratulations to @ncbn garu, #Balakrishna garu & @naralokesh garu. Finally..a day to celebrate for @PawanKalyan garu. A victory which was long due. Looking forward to seeing these great leaders give their love back to the people.”
The incident which occurred during the promotion of the film ‘Gangs of Godavari,’ drew significant backlash. Balakrishna asked Anjali to move so he could stand in the centre, and when she didn’t move quickly enough, he pushed her, causing her to lose her balance. The video of the incident sparked criticism, with filmmaker Hansal Mehta calling Balakrishna a ‘scumbag’. However, producer Naga Vamsi and actor Vishwak Sen defended Balakrishna, describing the push as a ‘casual’ interaction between friends. Critics, however, pointed out the power imbalance between the two actors.
