Kaizer Chiefs will have a new-look side next season with a new coach, new assistants and several player movements – departures and signings.
Kaizer Chiefs are undergoing a squad overhaul. This, comes after their worst season in PSL history, where they finished 10th in the DStv Premiership last season. Therefore, the Amakhosi hierarchy will be appointing a new head coach and several technical members.
Additionally, several big-name signings will be made. Meanwhile, a plethora of player exits is on the cards.
NEW CHIEFS COACHING STAFF TAKES SHAPE
Kaizer Chiefs have agreed a deal for their new coach.
However, the deal was agreed in principle. So, while the stars are aligned for Nasreddine Nabi’s move, it is not official yet. Interestingly, Nabi’s recent shock statement has opened the door to several strong candidates.
“I will decide my future after the Throne Cup competition. I will meet with the president and decide my future,” Nabi stated on iDiskiTimes.
Pitso Mosimane has confirmed talks with Chiefs. Benni McCarthy has hinted at a possible move to Amakhosi. Meanwhile, an Amakhosi legend is surprisingly linked with the job. Finally, a Bafana Bafana icon has offered himself to Chiefs. Therefore, with Nabi having confirmed other offers, the deal is not set in stone yet. In fact, Nabi has said he will consider the other offers and he is yet to decide. However, he is the strong favourite for the Chiefs job as things stand.
Meanwhile, Chiefs will have a new assistant – or two. This is a given, irrespective of who is signed. This is because Nabi will be bringing his own technical staff. Furthermore, even if he joins another club at the last minute, it will not change this fact. Ultimately, Mosimane has the same requirements in terms of bringing his own coaching staff. Currently, Fernando Da Cruz is the new Chiefs assistant having reportedly spoken out as the new assistant.
Additionally, Chiefs will have another new assistant coach who has recently been identified.
PLAYER MOVEMENTS – EXITS AND SIGNINGS LINED UP
12 Chiefs players are linked with exits.
Meaning, a whole team worth of players has been linked with departures. Moreover, a whole team of signings have been lined up too. SIX Bafana Bafana stars are linked with Chiefs. Ultimately, the Soweto giants will look very different next season with wholesale changes imminent. Interestingly, they will also have a new captain with Itumeleng Khune and Keagan Dolly linked with moves to their PSL rivals.
