55′ Juventus 1-0 Manchester City
The move started, and nearly ended, with Federico Gatti, who has been really solid tonight.
The strapping, burly centre-half belied his size and stature as after a block tackle on Kevin De Bruyne, he danced his way upfield positively on the dribble, dropped it off to Conceicao and strode forward ambitiously into the box.
Conceicao was crowded out, played it back to Locatelli, I think, who swung in a cross. Gatti, still positioned in the City penalty area, flashed an acrobatic airborne volley on goal, parried away messily by goalkeeper Ederson.
Gvardiol could have just whacked it away, but opted to pass it sideways to Walker, who wasn’t expecting it. Ball given away to Yildiz, who stood up a cross to the back post, where Dusan Vlahovic was waiting.
Vlahovic gave Gvardiol a little nudge in the back (no foul), and nodded it goalwards from close range. Once again, Ederson got to the ball, but he could only sort of push it into the post and the ball squirmed over the line, despite his best efforts to keep it out.
Ref Turpin confirmed the goal after the technology revealed it was over the line. Most of the Juventus team jumped on the big Serbian’s back in delight.
