A JET2 flight bound for Glasgow Airport declared a mid-air emergency this afternoon.

The plane was travelling from Palma de Mallorca, Spain, to Scotland when a 7700 squawk code was issued, signalling an emergency onboard.

Flight LS190 departed just after 2pm.

But the plane declared an alert around 3:10pm during its approach to Glasgow Airport.

It landed safely around 3:30pm.

The nature of the emergency is unknown.

Jet2 was approached for comment.
