JD Vance claimed at Saturday’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania that it was a “true miracle” Donald Trump survived his July assassination attempt at the same venue.
The Ohio senator spoke to a large ground on Saturday where he cited Biblical stricture — specifically Psalm 23 — noting that he “will fear no evil.” Two rally attendees were injured and another supporter was killed when a gunman opened fire at the rally back in Rally. Trump was grazed by a bullet on his ear.
On Saturday, Trump hosted a rally at the same venue to honor the deceased supporter, Corey Comperatore, and rally his supporters one month before the election.
Now, you heard the shots. You saw the blood. We all feared the worst. But you knew everything would be okay. When President Trump raised his fists high in the air and shouted. Fight, fight! Now, I believe, as sure as I’m standing here today, that what happened was a true miracle. And on that day, America felt the truth of scripture. So I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil, for you are with me.
