Girl group Aespa’s Winter canceled her scheduled live stream and penned ‘I heard a major earthquake hit Japan while I was preparing for the scheduled live show.’ She added, ‘I hope everyone is safe. I’ll keep my promise to do a live stream, though it is not today.’ Kim Chae-won of the now-disbanded girl group April also took to her Instagram account and wrote, ‘Please be safe if you are in Japan.’ TVXQ’s Max Changmin, in reply to a fan’s post informing about the earthquake, said, ‘I hope there are no big casualties’, whereas Riize’s Shotaro said, ‘I hope everyone in Japan, including our Japanese fans, are staying safe, and I pray that they continue to do so.’ Earlier, celebs from India also expressed their deep shock. Jr NTR shared, ‘Hoping for a swift recovery. Stay strong, Japan’ whereas filmmaker S S Rajamouli posted a note saying, ‘It’s very disturbing to learn about the earthquakes affecting Japan severely. The country holds a special place in our hearts. My thoughts are with everyone affected.’ Meanwhile, the death toll from a powerful earthquake has reportedly reached 62.
