Janhvi Kapoor revealed that so far she has deliberately done less commercial projects because she wants to grow as an artist.
Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for her upcoming release Ulajh. The spy-thriller is all set to hit the big screens on August 2, 2024. As the actress began with the promotion of her film, she recently appeared for an interview with Mashable, where she talked about different topics and among them she also mentioned the choices of film she has done so far. During the conversation, she revealed that so far she has deliberately done less commercial projects because she wants to grow as an artist.
Talking on the same, Janhvi said, “Main bohot hi asaan journey chun sakti thi. Main iss film ki jagah ya mere pichle kuch filmon ki jagah, main badi commercial films kar sakti thi jahan glamour hota, bohot asaani se reach milta, popularity ho jaata, box office ka number guaranteed hota. Voh bohot asaan journey hai. Usme success rate almost guaranteed hai. Isme bohot risk hai (I could have chosen a very easy journey. Instead of the projects I’ve done, I could’ve done a big commercial film with a glamourous role, easy reach, guaranteed popularity and box office numbers).”
She added, “So I know it’s a longer game, it’s a tougher game. I know that realistically if we’re looking at the box office, there have been more misses than hits because of the nature of the high-risk films I’ve chosen. But I feel that my growth as an artist has been more gratifying than it would’ve been had I picked the easier route.”
Janhvi has had a packed year. The actress was earlier seen in Mr and Mrs Mahi, which was released in May. Now, the actor will be next seen in Ulaj and post that he will feature in her Tollywood debut and the highly-anticipated film pan-India film Devara: Part 1, where she will share the screen with Jr NTR. She has also said yes to starring in Buchi Babu Sana’s next with Ram Charan. As per Janhvi’s pipeline, the actress will share the screen with Varun Dhawan for Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
Meanwhile, Janhvi recently revealed that she is extremely excited to shoot her upcoming song in Devara. The actress also said that the song will be directed by Koratala Siva. During an India Today conclave in 2023, she said, “Working with Jr NTR has been a dream. I recently re-watched RRR. The magnitude of charisma that he has to be able to share screen space with him will be one of the biggest joys of my life.”
