Culinary whiz Jamie Oliver has dished out a brilliant tip for making the most of your leftover coffee, ensuring not a drop goes to waste.
If you find yourself with a surplus from your morning brew, whether it’s crafted from finely ground beans or instant granules, Jamie and his food team offer a nifty solution that doesn’t compromise on flavour.
Over on Instagram, Jamie and his team have revealed an easy method to reduce waste while upping your iced coffee game.
Jamie posted: “Stop chucking the leftover coffee from your pot down the sink and whack it in an ice cube tray instead! @annahelmbaxter from my food team fully has me converted here cos she’s so right – no one likes watered down coffee and it’s my main issue with iced coffee ha ha. And those caramel swirls ….come on ! ! Let me know in the comments if you give these a try xxx (FYI the reason you warm the milk slightly is so the coffee flavour immediately comes through + the frothy top adds a nice texture).”
Anna explains in a clip: “No one likes watered-down coffee, that’s why I’m taking the extra coffee in my pot and I’m freezing it in ice cubes.”
To elevate your coffee experience, Anna recommends gently warming and frothing some milk, then enhancing it with a decadent caramel swirl in a glass. With the glass filled to the brim with the frozen coffee cubes and topped off with the creamy milk, your superior iced coffee is ready to be savoured, reports the Mirror.
Jamie’s followers were left impressed by his brilliant drink tip, with fan Maggie posting: “Leftover coffee? ? What’s that? But that’s a great idea, so will make extra coffee and freeze it. Don’t think I’ll be adding caramel though.”
Another, @apj2108 added, “Wow this looks incredible! ! This coffee fan can’t wait to try it!”
@lifewiththeduchess agreed saying, “I feel like a need to make a pot of coffee just to do this, why hadn’t we thought of this before,” while Holly wrote, “LOVE this!! I’ve made it – it’s Insane!! The Perfect Summer Coffee!! Bliss!!”
