Jamahal Hill seems to be in relatively good spirits considering the circumstances.
Following his UFC 300 main event loss, Hill (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) issued a brief video on social media where he seemed to accept the outcome.
“Oh well,” Hill said. “It’s the game we play. I got caught. For anybody that cares, I’m good. I’m all well. We’re still doing our thing tonight. Y’all know where we’re at. We’re over at Hakkasan. And yeah, man. We’ll just build and come right back.”
Hill suffered the first knockout loss of his career to Alex Pereira on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. A signature left hand from Pereira (10-2 MMA, 7-1 UFC) marked the beginning of the end. Then, follow-up shots put Hill out.
The performance was Hill’s first competition since an Achilles tear in July. The injury lead him to vacate the title shortly thereafter.
UFC CEO Dana White revealed at a UFC 300 post-fight news conference that Hill had competed with a broken toe.
