Travelers can look forward to a roof plaza and an air concourse, making their journey even more enjoyable.

The redevelopment of Gandhi Nagar Jaipur Station, a key transit hub in the Pink City, has officially started.

This project, led by the Railway Ministry, aims to turn the station into a world-class facility, offering passengers modern amenities and a comfortable environment.

The new plan includes separate areas for arrivals and departures, making travel smoother for everyone. Expect features like a roof plaza and an air concourse to enhance your journey. Passengers can look forward to convenient elevators, escalators, executive lounges, waiting rooms, a shopping complex, a cafeteria, and plenty of parking space.

According to the Financial Express, during a recent visit to the station, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav shared updates on the redevelopment at a press conference. “We are currently reconstructing and redeveloping 1,324 stations across the country. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, this is the world’s largest station redevelopment project, and Gandhi Nagar is a key part of it. The Prime Minister stresses that stations should connect different parts of a city and must always be clean and well-maintained,” Vaishnav stated.

He also praised the railway team for their dedication, calling the phased launch of such a large station a significant achievement.

Amitabh, the General Manager of North West Railways, added that the station is already two-thirds complete, with finishing touches expected in just two to three months. Gandhi Nagar Station will feature Indian Railways’ largest roof plaza, measuring an impressive 72 meters by 40 meters, with reinforcement work currently underway.

“This station is quite popular in Jaipur. The redevelopment is two-thirds complete, and we expect to finish the rest soon. Our roof plaza is the largest in Indian Railways, measuring 72 meters long and 40 meters wide. We are working hard, even with the challenges of a busy station,” said GM NWR Amitabh.

He noted the strong community support for the redevelopment, as everyone is eager to see Indian Railways advance quickly.
