Marvel’s Iron Man is about to match wits and fists with Orchis member Feilong. This showdown, revealed in Gerry Duggan and Creees Lee’s Invincible Iron Man #15, has been a long time coming. The two have had a feud brewing since Fall of X began, and Feilong seized control of Stark Industries. This left Stark penniless and on the run, as he attempted to aid mutants in their war against Orchis. Unfortunately, this put Iron Man in the sights of Feilong, who has already proven to be a match for the superpowered X-Men of Krakoa. How can a man in a suit hope to match up to the cosmic power of such a villain?
Iron Man And Feilong
While Tony Stark’s Iron Man has been around for quite a while, Feilong is a recent addition to the Marvel Universe. The man known as Kelvin Heng was introduced in X-Men (2021) #1 by Gerry Duggan and Pepe Larraz. A descendant of Nikola Tesla, the genius was poised to be one of Marvel’s richest and brightest minds. Until his parents wiped out almost all his assets and sent Heng underground. He returned under the moniker Feilong and became a prominent member of the anti-mutant group Orchis. He began augmenting his body, eventually developing devastating powers.
When the Fall of X event kicked off, Feilong began to take an interest in Tony Stark. Considering him a worthy foe, Feilong worked to dismantle Iron Man’s legacy and completely destroy Tony Stark’s life. He seized control of Stark Industries and used the technology to create the Stark Sentinels and other anti-mutant weaponry. He used this new tech to wage war on all mutantkind alongside Orchis. However, Tony Stark and Emma Frost began digging into Feilong’s history and uncovered his secret mutant origins. Now, it looks like Feilong is ready to eliminate this problem, face-to-face.
Wrapping It Up
With only a few short months left before the finale of the Fall of X in June, many storylines are reaching their downward arch. For Iron Man, it looks like that means facing off against Feilong and the rest of Orchis’ army one last time.
