Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concern over Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s helicopter crash incident. He said “we stand in solidarity with the Iranian people in this hour of distress, and pray for well-being of the President and his entourage.” PM Modi’s statement came as Raisi’s condition currently remains unknown, rescue and search operation still underway. A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi made a rough landing on May 19, reported state TV. Iranian state media earlier reported that the incident occurred near Jolfa in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province. President Raisi was returning from a ceremony to open a dam on Iran’s border with Azerbaijan when his helicopter crashed.
