iPhone 16 series should handle heating issues better than iPhone 15: report

The iPhone 16 series launch is expected to take place in September. There have been quite a lot leaked and rumoured about the new iPhones. The iPhone 16 series is expected to come with upgrades in the camera, chipset, battery, and even faster charging. Another upgrade that we might see and one that’s much needed is better heat dissipation on the iPhone 16 series.

iPhone 16 overheating feature

  • The iPhone 16 is tipped to handle overheating better than the previous generation. This might just be true as another report adds to this speculation.
  • According to The Information, the iPhone 16 will feature a “larger graphite sheet” for better heat dissipation. This should help solve overheating problems for the iPhone 16 series.
  • How good the thermal management would be on the iPhone 16 models will only be determined once the phones are official. It would be something to keep an eye on as the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max had some serious overheating issues reported by several users.
  • It has been previously reported that the battery in the iPhone 16 series will have a metal encasing that might help in managing heat better.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max’s overheating issues were so severe that Apple had to roll out a software update to fix it. It was first believed to be a hardware issue but Apple later clarified that it was the software. Apple later rolled out the iOS 17.0.3 update to fix the overheating issue on the iPhone 15 Pro models. The iPhone 16 series will hopefully not suffer any dramatic heating issues.

The iPhone 16 series seems to continue with the same design as the iPhone 15 series. But we might see vertical cameras as opposed to the diagonal design. Apple is also rumoured to use the same A18 chipset across all iPhone 16 models. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max would get a more powerful A18 Pro chip. But unlike the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus using a dated chipset, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus would get the latest one.
