iPhone 16 Pro slimmest bezels on a smartphone
- While the Dynamic Island cutout design is not expected to change this year, the bezels around the screen will become slim.
- The already thin bezel is expected to get even thinner on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
- For context, the bezels shrunk from around 3.5mm on the iPhone 14 Pro to under 2mm on the iPhone 15 Pro lineup.
- This means the iPhone 16 Pro series will have bezels slimmer than that of the iPhone 15 or lineup.
- The bezels on the iPhone 16 Pro will be slimmer than Galaxy S24, which has the slimmest bezels on a phone, according to tipster Ice Universe.
This leak is not a complete surprise as it falls in line with supply chain rumours that Apple is reportedly using BRS (Border Reduction Structure’) technology for the upcoming iPhones’ displays. Wiring and circuitry near the edge of the panel will be bent downwards to make the desired results. This reduction in bezel might result in an overall increase in device size.
iPhone 16 Pro: what to expect
iPhone 16 Pro is expected to sport a 6.3-inch display compared to a 6.1-inch panel on the iPhone 15 Pro. On the other hand, the Pro Max version will feature a 6.9-inch display, an upgrade from 6.7 inches diagonally.
Besides the display, the new iPhone 16 Pro lineup is expected to bring some notable upgrades/improvements. This includes the latest A18 processor, a new pressure-sensitive Capture button, a 5x telephoto lens on the non-Pro-Max variant, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and others.
