iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max bezel dimensions leaked

According to a reliable tipster Ice Universe, the iPhone 16 Pro will have just 1.2mm bezels and the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s bezles will be even slimmer at 1.15mm. For reference, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max had 1.71mm and 1.55mm bezels.

With such slim bezels, the iPhone 16 Pro series will have the slimmest bezels on any smartphone to date.

Another leak reported in March gave us a hint about it, mentioning Apple is reportedly using BRS (Border Reduction Structure) technology for the four upcoming iPhone models. This will involve bending the wiring and circuitry near the edge of the panel, downwards, to make the desired results.

This bezel reduction aside, there is an overall increase in device dimensions and increased weight. As per rumours, the iPhone 16 Pro will now measure 149.6 x 71.45 x 8.25 mm, and weigh 221g, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will measure 163.02 x 77.58 x 8.26 mm, and weigh 225g respectively.

Rumored Display improvements in iPhone 16 models

Along with the bezel reduction, the iPhone 16 series is expected to have the following display improvements over the iPhone 15 series:

  • Bigger displays: The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will have slightly larger 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays respectively.
  • Micro-Lens Technology: An array consisting of billions of micro-lenses placed in a uniform pattern inside the panel, to reduce internal reflection, increasing overall brightness and reducing power consumption.
  • Improved Brightness: 20 percent brighter display, 1,200 nits at HBM level; and 1,600 nits peak brightness for HDR content.

The display production for iPhone 16 models is expected to start later this month. LG will manufacture the display for the Pro models, and BOE will make the display for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. While Samsung will be making displays for all four models.

Besides the display improvements, the iPhone 16 series is expected to include the latest A18 processor, a new physical pressure-sensitive ‘Capture Button’ to take photos and videos, and the 5x telephoto lens on the iPhone 16 Pro for the first time, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and others.
