Infinix Note 40 Pro+ vs OnePlus Nord CE4: design

Infinix-Note-40-Pro-Plus

Both the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ and the Nord CE4 have a contrasting design. While the Nord CE4 offers a more traditional look, Infinix has a very impressive design. The OnePlus Nord CE4 has a boxy chassis with flat edges. While the Infinix phone offers a curved AMOLED display with narrow bezels. The OnePlus phone offers a polycarbonate body, Infinix Note 40 Pro+ has a leather back panel option. The Green/Gold colour option looks impressive.

The Nord CE4 has an oval-shaped module on the back to house dual cameras. While the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ has a large camera island taking up the entire top portion of the back panel. The vegan leather green option has a gold-coloured casing.

Infinix Note 40 Pro+ vs OnePlus Nord CE4: display

The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ and Nord CE4 come with the same display technology. They both offer an AMOLED display, which should deliver vivid colours and punchy blacks. This should enhance the total viewing experience. The 120Hz refresh rate on both phones means the scrolling should be butter-smooth. However, where the Infinix phone takes the edge is with its premium curved screen compared to the flat edges of the Nord.

Infinix Note 40 Pro+ also leads with slightly brighter screen at 1300nits compared to 1100nits. There is also Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Rest, you get a 6.78-inch screen on the Note 40 Pro+ and a 6.7-inch panel on the Nord CE4.

Infinix Note 40 Pro+ vs OnePlus Nord CE4: performance

In the performance department, the OnePlus Nord CE4 definitely has the advantage as it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset compared to the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC on the Infinix. This is evident from the AnTuTu benchmark as well. The OnePlus phone has managed to score a whopping 8 lakh points. Meanwhile the chipset on the Note 40 Pro+ can score in the range of 5L points.

To back this, we have the Infinix Note 40 Pro unit with us and this comes with the same chipset and has managed to score 461,827 points in the AnTuTu benchmark. So the 12GB RAM model on the Note 40 Pro+ will score slightly more (should be below 5L). This suggests a clear edge to the Nord CE4. The OnePlus phone packs 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. The Infinix model comes in a single 12GB/256GB storage variant.

Infinix Note 40 Pro+ vs OnePlus Nord CE4: cameras

The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ packs a 108MP primary camera with f/1.75 aperture, OIS and LED flash, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a 32MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats.

While the OnePlus Nord CE4 packs a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. We get a 16MP shooter on the front for selfies. This suggests the Infinix phone will produce slightly sharper and more detailed selfies thanks to its large sensor. For those who care about numbers, the 108MP shooter on the Note 40 Pro+ sounds premium but we will have more to talk about when we review the phone.

Infinix Note 40 Pro+ vs OnePlus Nord CE4: battery, software

Nord CE4

Coming to the battery department, the OnePlus Nord CE4 is a clear winner thanks to its large 5,500mAh battery. While the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ has a smaller 4,600mAh battery. Additionally, both phones offer the same 100W fast charging support and the adapter is bundled in the box. The Infinix phone comes with 20W wireless MagCharge support.  Infinix promises the bundled 100W charger can juice up from 0-50 percent in just 8 minutes with the hyper mode. While OnePlus promises 0-100 percent in just 35 minutes.

Both phones run on Android 14 OS out of the box. However, the OnePlus Oxygen UI is near stock hence the software experience is clean. On the flip side, the Infinix phone ships with a custom XOS system. OnePlus is offering two years of Android OS updates but details regarding the Infinix phone are not clear at the moment.
