In the second bomb threat received in the day on air, an IndiGo flight from Varanasi to Delhi received a threat on Saturday. All passengers in the aircraft were safely disembarked from the after landing at the Delhi airport.
The airline issued a statement saying that flight 6E 2232, operating from Varanasi to Delhi, had received a bomb threat.
“Upon landing in Delhi, the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay as per security agency guidelines and the crew followed all standard operating procedures,” the statement said.
According to the airline, all passengers have safely disembarked and the aircraft is currently undergoing inspection.
On Saturday, another IndiGo flight, with 172 persons on board landed in “full emergency” conditions at Mumbai airport after receiving a bomb threat. Flight number 6E 5314 from Chennai to Mumbai, landed at around 8.45 am.
After departing from Chennai at approximately 6:50 am, the flight was en route when it received a bomb alert asking the pilot to not land the plane in Mumbai, sources said.
Confirming the alleged bomb threat to its Chennai-Mumbai flight, IndiGo issued a statement saying, “Upon landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay as per security agency guidelines.”
