This actress hails from the family of renowned actors, but unfortunately couldn’t achieve success she aspired to.
Many Bollywood stars attempted to make a mark in the industry but failed to achieve significant success. Despite appearing in numerous films, some actors and actresses struggled to win over the audience. Today, we will talk about one such actress who hails from a family of renowned actors, but unfortunately couldn’t achieve the success she aspired to.
We are talking about Raima Sen. Born in Mumbai to actress Moon Moon Sen and Bharat Varma, a member of Tripura’s royal family. Raima is the granddaughter of legendary Bengali actress Suchitra Sen and the sister of Bollywood actress Riya Sen. Her paternal grandmother was the princess of Cooch Behar, whose younger sister Gayatri Devi was the Maharani of Jaipur. Her maternal great-grandfather Adinath Sen was a prominent Kolkata businessman, whose son Dinanath Sen was a minster in Tripura’s royal court.
Raima began her career 25 years ago; however, many of her films failed to create significant impact at the box office. Raima made her Bollywood debut with Godmother, in which she had a minor role. She also starred in films like Daman, Honeymoon Travels Private Limited, Eklavya and worked in web series like Love Birds, Hello and Mehmaan.
Well, Raima Sen had opened up about brutal trolling and threats. The actress received death threats for her film Maa Kaali which is based on the history of 1946 Calcutta Killings. Well, there were reports that the actress was threatened over the phone calls since the posters of the film were out. In an interview with Firstpost, when the actress was asked whether she was concerned after threat calls, Raima replied, “Not exactly. I was prepared for this as I was sure that there will be a sect of people who may go against us. As a public figure, you have to go through these things, but the sad part is people threatening even before watching the film. At least, let the movie release and then you can judge.” Helmed by Vijay Yelakanti, the political drama also stars Abhishek Singh and Sundip Ved. It is scheduled for release in 2025.
