The Indian men’s team of Dommaraju Gukesh, Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, Arjun Arigaisi, Vidit Gujrathi and Pentala Harikrishna won the gold medal in the FIDE Chess Olympiad 2024. The Indian men’s team defeated the USA by 2.5-1.5 in the final and it was the country’s first-ever open-title gold medal in the category. Gukesh started off things with a win whereas Praggnanandhaa ended up losing his match. On the other hand, Arjun Erigaisi and Vidit Gujrathi settled for draws.
