Accustomed to their bananas going brown before their time, a banana lover took to online forum Reddit to advise people on how they could put bananas that turn brown or black to use. This creates less waste and may leave you with a full, satisfied tummy.
In a post, the Redditor explained that bananas could be used to make a tasty treat.
They advised to not throw away the fruits if they turn brown. Instead, use them to make delicious banana bread.
They explained: “Do you know overripe fruits are sweeter and easier to mash?” So, this will ultimately end up saving you some energy in the kitchen as well.
They also explained that to make your banana bread tastier, you can add cacao nibs, coffee, or dried fruit slices. “Find other ingredients that you could use to make bread tastier,” they said.

If you decide to take the advice, there’s an ultra-moist banana bread recipe that you need to try.
The recipe makes enough for 12 servings, takes around two minutes to prepare, and bakes in 30 minutes.
Banana Bread Recipe
Ingredients
- 330g bananas, mashed
- 230g coconut condensed milk or traditional condensed milk
- 170g self-raising flour
Directions
Preheat your oven to 180C/350F. Grease and line a 7x4inch loaf tin with parchment paper and place it to the side.
In a big mixing bowl, put in the bananas and condensed milk and whisk together until they are blended. Stir through the flour gently and mix well until it is entirely combined.
Move the batter to the greased pan and bake it for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a skewer comes out mainly clean.
Take the banana bread out of the oven and allow it to cool in the tin fully before slicing and enjoying.
The banana bread will remain good at room temperature if covered, for up to three days.
If you’d like the bread to last longer, stow it in the fridge and it will keep well for up to one week.
