If you cut all cheese the same way — you’re doing it wrong

Whether you’re a cheese aficionado or a novice, you can create your own charcuterie board with a selection of your favourite dairy products, some crunchy crackers, and a handful of nuts or fruits.

But if you really want to create an impressive homemade cheese board for your next gathering, you may want to check that you’re cutting your cheese the right way.

While some of you may be questioning how there is more than one way to do it, experts at Boars Head has shared the best ways to cut each one. In the caption, which has gained more than 24,000 likes, they wrote: “How to make the cheeses on your charcuterie board look cute.”

“Boar’s head sharp Wisconsin cheddar cubes. Boar’s head French Brie wedges,” the expert explained in the clip. But when they got to Parmigiano-Reggian, they suggested “crumbles” would be the best way to go.

To serve the best crumbles start with a quality chunk at room temperature. Use a cheese pick or knife to pry off varied-sized pieces, as demonstrated in the social media video.

Finally, they suggested cutting Manchego cheese into triangles and putting them in a zig-zag layout with the tips pointing inwards from opposite directions. Once all the cutting is done, you can lay out your aesthetically pleasing board, ready to serve.

TikTok viewers were left stunned by the clip as they took to the comments to give their opinions. One user said: “I genuinely appreciate this post. I love making diff cheese boards and just cut and hope for the best.”

Another added: “I thoroughly enjoyed this.” Someone else wrote: “Then pull out the wine, crackers, and the olives.”
