I tried Côte Brasserie’s French Alps-inspired food delivery box – and it was divine

Côte Brasserie’s executive chef, Steve Allen, said: “I designed the Alpine menu to bring to life the excitement and warm hospitality of the French dining experience in the Alps, using high quality and authentic ingredients.

“Whether you’re dropping in to relax after a day on your feet, treating your partner to an elegant date night, or gathering for a light-hearted catch-up with a group, our Alpine menu offers a perfect opportunity to gather together.

“There’s no need to avoid indulging this February, these cosy, traditional dishes are intended to brighten up the greyest of days, aprés anything.”

The menu starts with scrumptious Diots, smoked Toulouse sausage and cherry tomatoes in white wine and thyme as well as butter and caramelised onion, served with sourdough baguette.

A tartiflette is next on the menu, available as a single portion or as a Luxe sharing platter, with prices starting from £14.95.

It consists of sliced potatoes, caramelised onion and smoked bacon lardons topped with melted reblochon and comté cheese.

It’s served alongside a Bayonne ham, cornichons and sourdough baguette with truffle saucisson which complemented the meal beautifully.

The main meal was super tasty with plenty of flavours and textures, tasting like restaurant quality at home. When purchasing online, it is also served with a green salad.

A very traditional dish, originating from the French Alps, it was lovely to get a taste of the Alps from home.

It also went down beautifully with a glass of red wine to help balance the salty flavours of the meal.

If you have room for pudding, there is a sharing dessert of an almond frangipane and pear tart available for £15.95.

It’s topped with melted white chocolate, blueberries and viola flowers, served with a blueberry compote and ice cream.

Other items on the Alpine menu include a spiced apple spritz, a spiced apple highball as well as an Alpine chocolat chaud which is a hot chocolate served alongside warm milk and vanilla Chantilly cream.

The spiced apple spritz is available for £10.50, while the spiced apple highball is £6.95 and the chocolat chaud is available for £4.50.

If diners fancy some alcohol in their chocolate drink, Grand Marnier orange brandy can be purchased for an additional £3.50.

The restaurant is also offering a free drink to anyone who dines in ski gear and says the phrase “après anything” until February 29.

Britons can check out their nearest restaurant location online, with plenty dotted around the country, or the company has plenty of food boxes online to try.
