TEN years ago Ivana Poku moved to London to restart her life following a relationship breakdown, believing she would never fulfill her dreams of being a mum.
After her first marriage ended in divorce, she was in a dark place, fearing she would never find love again.
But in a remarkable tale of love and the law of attraction, the then 30-year-old manifested her dream husband in just two weeks.
She began to connect with her future spouse in her mind, engaging in daily conversations and visualisations of who that man might be – believing with her heart that he existed.
Ivana, who now lives in Dalgety Bay, Fife, said she spoke with her hypothetical future husband on a daily, even hourly basis.
She told the Scottish Sun: “I began speaking to him as if he existed, I would imagine where he was and what he would be doing.
“I knew he was real, he was out there somewhere. I didn’t know when I would meet him or how, but it didn’t matter anymore. Just knowing he was out there gave me comfort, it removed the block.”
While this might sound like a hopeless romantic’s daydream, the story took a surprising turn when, within two weeks of willing her dreams of her perfect husband into existence, he made himself known.
She realised her ‘dream man’ was none other than an existing friend, Yaw.
Despite being friends for two years, it took this transformation in her perspective to see Yaw, 48, in a new light.
She confessed: “I knew him, he was there all along. I just wasn’t ready to see him that way, maybe.
“I kept on saying, I wish I would meet a nice guy like Yaw.
“We got together, and I just knew, oh my God, this is the one.”
After a night out with friends, the pair got together and within three weeks, she was pregnant with twins.
A whirlwind romance led to a wedding seven months later, and they’ve now been together for nine years.
The couple – who have lived in Scotland for three years – have three boys now, the twins now eight and a two-year-old joining the happy brood.
Last year the love-birds launched a podcast called ‘Life in Black and White, and All the Shades in Between’ a nod to their interracial relationship.
The pair share their experiences of relationships, parenting, and race as well as talking to guests about their experiences.
Reflecting on her extraordinary love story, Ivana, now 40, offers advice to those who might be in a similar position.
She suggests: “Just know he is out there, and connect with him in your mind, ask him questions.
“I know it sounds a bit weird, maybe, but that was so liberating.
“And I believe that allowed me to attract him, because I had that unshakeable faith, and I let go of the how.”
Her husband, Yaw, is also a firm believer in the law of attraction.
She revealed: “He’s very open to these things, and we discuss it a lot.
“I only told him this recently, actually, that I manifested him during one of our podcast interviews,”
Ivana said manifestation is learning to let go of the ‘how’, and connect with their desired partner in their mind.
She believes that this mental shift and self-compassion sped up the process of attracting her dream husband.

The law of attraction has helped in other aspects of Ivan’s life as well, citing her first job at a top advertising agency in her native Slovakia as another instance where her mindset made all the difference.
She said: “It’s very, very important to have the faith.”
