Hyundai Motor India Foundation onboarded 20 para-athletes for a period of three years under its ‘Samarth Para-Sports Programme’.
Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) onboarded a total of 20 para-athletes for three years under its Samarth Para-Sports programme on Monday. For this, HMIF collaborated with NGO partner GoSports Foundation. This initiative is part of Hyundai’s broader Samarth by Hyundai initiative.
The Samarth Para-Sports programme
Notably, the programme is designed by the carmaker to offer structured support to para-athletes, which includes financial aid, access to assistive devices, soft skill development assistance, mentorship from renowned coaches and sports science guidance.
The endeavour has identified talented athletes across eight key sports categories – Swimming, Badminton, Athletics, Archery, Rowing, Canoeing, Wheelchair Tennis, and Cycling.
Selection Of Athletes
Included in this selection are 15 promising young athletes over the age of 13 and five superior athletes aged 16 and above, hailing from different parts of India. This provision of essential support and mentoring to these gifted para-athletes would ensure India’s indomitable spirit shines brightly on the international stage.
