New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has inaugurated Gurugram’s first Traffic Engineering Centre and Organization Development Centre at the Deputy Commissioner of Police’s office. This initiative, part of HMIF’s Easy Roads program, aims to improve road safety and streamline traffic management through cutting-edge technology and specialized training programs.
Technology-Driven Traffic Management
The Traffic Engineering Centre is equipped with advanced systems capable of monitoring 1,100 cameras across 218 junctions in Gurugram. It offers a live view of 25 cameras simultaneously, ensuring faster response times and efficient traffic management.
Beyond surveillance, the Centre provides insights into traffic patterns, accident causes, and system faults. It also generates actionable recommendations to enhance road conditions and reduce traffic-related challenges.
Training for Traffic Police
Complementing the engineering efforts, the Organization Development Centre* focuses on building the capacity of Gurugram Traffic Police. Officers will undergo training to improve their skills in traffic and accident management, contributing to smoother operations across the city.
A Collaborative Initiative
This initiative is a joint effort between HMIF and Haryana Police, with support from organizations like the *Institute of Road Traffic Education* and the *TSL Foundation. Together, they emphasize the **3E’s of road safety*: Education, Engineering, and Enforcement, forming a holistic approach to improving urban mobility.
