In the state capital, Hyderabad, the weather forecast for the next 48 hours predicts moderate to heavy rain or thunderstorms, accompanied by sustained surface winds of 30-40 kmph. The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 27°C, while the minimum temperature may dip to 21°C. Winds will likely blow from the northwest or west at speeds ranging from 8-12 kmph. The city of Hyderabad is also preparing for continuous rain over the next several days. The forecast for the first week of September shows generally cloudy skies with intermittent spells of rain or thunderstorms. While heavier showers are expected on September 1 and 2, lighter rain or drizzle may occur on September 3 and 4. Rain or thunderstorms are likely to resume by September 5 and 6, with temperatures ranging between 21°C to 31°C throughout the week.
Saturday’s downpour caused significant disruption in many parts of Telangana, with low-lying areas getting submerged, and road links between several villages cut off due to swollen streams. Rivulets in districts like Mahabubabad, Narayanpet, and Khammam were in spate, further hampering transportation and access to rural regions.
