Hunt for hit-and-run driver as Scots schoolgirl injured after being struck by car

COPS are hunting for the driver of a car after a schoolgirl was mowed down in a Scots town.

Emergency crews raced to the A883, near Broad Street in Denny, Falkirk, after the alarm was raised around 5.30pm on Wednesday, October 2.

The driver of the grey “estate-type” vehicle failed to stop after hitting a 14-year-old girl at a pedestrian crossing.

The teen suffered injuries following the smash.

Cops are appealing to anyone who may have any information or dashcam footage to get in touch.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Daily Record: “We are appealing to anyone who may have any information or may have dashcam footage to call police on 101 and quote incident 3380 of October 2.”

Elsewhere in Falkirk, cops locked down a busy street amid an ongoing incident.

Scores of officers were seen on Stirling Road in Camelon just after 6pm.

Police Scotland confirmed an individual was taken to hospital following a concern for person incident.
