A new viral hack has sparked a divide online as it proposes cooking scrambled eggs in a way that is quite untraditional.
The technique, popularised by a social media user named @lilsipper, was shared in a video that shows her simply pouring whisked eggs into a pot of boiling water.
The Instagram video then sees the influencer instruct viewers to let the eggs cook before gently stirring them.
The content creator went as far as to claim that her technique produces “the fluffiest scrambled eggs”, as she compares the hack to the egg drop soup technique.
She said: “It’s like the egg drop soup, but you’re actually making scrambled eggs.”
“It’s almost impossible to overcook your eggs and you’ll get fluffy ones every time,” the Instagrammer stated.
The reception to the boiling water scrambled eggs clip was mixed, with some viewers were unconvinced and expressed concern about getting “wet eggs”.
On the other hand, several people seemed curious to try it out before reaching a conclusion.
“Hmm, I feel like that would remove a lot of the flavour and make them mushy and wet,” said one person.
Another Instagram user added: “While it is different and I agree it is kinda weird at first.
“This isn’t that crazy. We do poach eggs. And yes you probably can use broth or season the water you’re boiling them.”
A third commenter typed: “You can also add water TO the scrambled eggs in the bowl as you whisk (instead of milk) and it will give the fluffiest eggs ever.”
Another person pointed out: “This is brilliant. And it won’t mess up your pan!!!”
