It can be tricky to come up with new ideas on what to make for dinner during the week, especially if you want to cook something tasty without too much effort.
Jamie Oliver’s sausage bake has only five ingredients but has been designed to be incredibly flavourful and easy to prepare in only 10 minutes before it goes in the oven for 45 minutes.
On his website, Jamie said: “The clue’s in the title with this one – it’s not the prettiest recipe in the world, but boy is it comforting and super-delicious.”
What is great about this dish is that you can swap out the ingredients to make it with whatever you have in your kitchen cupboard. You can use any type of sausage and beans with this recipe or even use lentils and tinned tomatoes.
This is the perfect meal to cook something quick and super cheap for a family which also tastes incredible and will soon become a favourite comfort food dinner.
Method
Preheat the oven to 180C (or Gas 4).
Slice the cherry tomatoes in half, peel and slice up the garlic and tear the bread into small bite-sized pieces.
Place the tomatoes, garlic and bread in a roasting tray, then pour in the beans with their juice and drizzle one tablespoon of olive oil into the tray.
Mix all the ingredients in the tray together, then pinch and twist each chipolata sausage to make them into two mini ones and scatter the sausages around the bake.
Place the bake in the oven and roast for 45 minutes until everything is bubbling, golden and looking incredibly tasty.
Take out the oven and your sausage bake is now ready to serve.
