House of the Dragon Star Explains Why Jon Snow Wouldn’t Stand a Chance Against Daemon Targaryen

With House Of The Dragon Season 2 approaching quickly, fans all over the world are in a heated debate. This came from a hypothetical fight between Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen and Kit Harrington’s Jon Snow. However, Matt Smith came out and said that his character would definitely win. “The Rogue Prince” vs. “The Prince That Was Promised” would be one of the most legendary duels in the entire franchise. Who would win such a battle?

In a recent interview, Matt Smith stated that Daemon Targaryen “has a dragon,” as reported by Pop Culture. That may be true, and if it came down to dragon vs. dragon combat, then Smith’s character would most definitely win.

Would House of the Dragon’s Daemon Targaryen Really Beat Jon Snow?

“Who would win in a fight between Jon Snow and Daemon? Mate, I’ve got a dragon,” Smith said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He added that he has a “lot of respect for Jon Snow” and “don’t get me wrong. Kit Harington – lovely man, lovely guy. I have a lot of respect but don’t get it twisted, I would f- those brothers up, mate. I’ve got a dragon.”

However, if you take dragons out of the equation, is House Of The Dragon’s Daemon Targaryen battle-tested enough to defeat Jon Snow? Let’s not forget that Daemon lost to Criston Cole before he was even a knight. On the other hand, he was able to defeat some of the Crab Feeder’s men, but is that really enough?

Jon Snow was the youngest Lord Commander of The Night’s Watch. The White Wolf also led multiple successful missions outside the wall. Snow killed many men, as well as White Walkers. Unfortunately, fans will never get a true answer. However, it is still fun to think about this hypothetical duel, because Daemon Targaryen is definitely a worthy opponent for Jon Snow.

House Of The Dragon Season 2 will begin streaming June 16th on MAX.
