Vikramaditya’s decision holds a lot of significance, as his act caused a lot of political instability and also put Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu in a spot of trouble.
While retracting his resignation, Singh said, “it is the responsibility of every individual to strengthen the organisation. In the larger interest and unity of the party, the resignation by me in the morning which the CM refused to accept, I would not like to press it further.”
“There was no danger (to the government), it was just a creation,” he added.
Himachal Pradesh’s recent political developments have caught the attention of everyone and further exacerbated the problems for the grand-old party Congress, which recently lost three elections in the Hindi heartland. A political crisis in Himachal could have proved really bad for the party ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
The short but serious crisis in Himachal politics was casting doubt on the Congress party’s stability and CM Sukhu’s future. But it seems that Congress managed to douse the first by taking swift action, as Vikramaditya talked about unity and added that there was no danger to the government.
