THIS is the hilarious moment Gareth Bale saw his ball stolen on the green by a DOG during the Pro-Am event at Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The former Real Madrid and Tottenham star is competing in the annual event for the second time alongside several celebrities, including other big names from the sporting world.
Bale, 36, made his debut at last year’s tournament and showcased his abilities in the first round by shooting a one-under-par 71 around the fearsome Carnoustie course.
Bale returned to the iconic Scottish course on Friday for the second day of the event and ended the day with his team-mate Daniel Brown on 19 under – five behind leaders Grant Forrest and Martin Gilber.
But although it was another stunning outing on a course, which is considered to be one of the toughest golfing tests, he was outshined by a local excited pup.
The retired footballer was chipping onto the green from a sloped rough and played a good shot, with his ball landing a few feet away from the hole.
But just as Bale began walking over to the green to sink his putt, he was left stunned as a dog ran on – thinking it was a game of fetch – and snatched his ball before returning it to where he took the initial shot from.
The crowd of onlookers erupted into laughter but it didn’t faze Bale as he continued his round and finished high up the leaderboard with Brown.
The Welshman is competing in the event alongside the likes of Ruud Gullit, AP McCoy and Jamie Redknapp to name a few.
Similar to Bale, Scottish tennis icon Andy Murray is also enjoying a few days out on the courses with some spare time on his hands after hanging up his racket after the Olympics.
Hollywood actors Bill Murray, Andy Garcia and Michael Douglas have also made an appearance.
Speaking in May, Bale revealed he first fell in love with golf while playing for Tottenham early in his football career.
“It (love for golf) actually started quite late for me to be honest,” he told Sky Sports.
“We were at Tottenham at the time, and there was quite a few of the boys playing golf. It’s kind of a tradition in British football, a lot of the boys play.
“They invited me one day, I got a set of clubs and kind of just got addicted from there on in.
“We had a group of seven or eight of us that used to go out every couple of weeks, whenever we had time, and yeah I got addicted straight away.
“I had the big banana slice like you do at the start, and I’ve been working on it ever since to be honest.”
