New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini recently spoke highly of the actor-turned-politician, Kangana Ranaut who recently got the ticket from the BJP to contest in the 2024 Lok Sabha General Elections from her hometown Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Interestingly, Hema Malini herself has been a member of the Lok Sabha since 2014 and represents the Mathura constituency on behalf of the BJP. Read along to find out what Hema said about Kangana.
Hema Malini Speaks Highly of Kangana Ranaut
On asking about Kangana’s entry into politics Hema Malini spoke to the ANI news agency. She was delighted to know that such a bold actress from Bollywood had stepped up to contest in the Lok Sabha Elections. Hema Malini expressed, “Mai Kangana ko badhai dena chati hu. Congratulations Kangana for coming into politics. We wish you all the luck for you… You are a wonderful girl.. Voh (Kangana) akele hokar ladai kara apne astithva ke liye. I’m sure that she will doo well in politics also. Jisne jo kaha hai bhit galat kaha hai. As film stars we have a lot of dignity baaki shayd kisi or mai nahi hoga. Jo Congress ke member ne kaha hai. She should take it back and Kangana will fight it back nicely (sic).”

What Did Supriya Shrinate Say?
The Congress Leader denied that she didn’t make any such claims on Kangana. Although the politician later deleted the post, she also claimed that the post was made by someone who had access to her Meta accounts. She expressed, “Someone who had access to my meta accounts ( FB and Insta) posted an absolutely disgusting and objectionable post, which has been taken down. Anyone who knows me will know I would never say that for a woman. However, a parody account that I have just discovered misusing my name is being run on Twitter ( @Supriyaparody ) which started the whole mischief, and is being reported (sic).”
Kangana Ranaut’s Response To Congress Leader
“Dear Supriya ji, In the last 20 years of my career as an artist I have played all kinds of women. From a naive girl in Queen to a seductive spy in Dhaakad, from a goddess in Manikarnika to a demon in Chandramukhi, from a prostitute in Rajjo to a revolutionary leader in Thalaivii (sic).”
Kangana added, “We must free our daughters from the shackles of prejudices, we must rise above the curiosity about their body parts, and above all we must refrain from using sex workers challenging lives or circumstances as some kind of abuse or slur… every woman deserves her dignity (sic).”
