Police filed another FIR against actor Jayasurya from a female artist amid the allegations of several sexual abuse cases in the Malayalam film industry.
Hema Committee Report: After the Justice Hema Committee report was released, the MeToo movement in Mollywood took a dramatic turn on Thursday when Mukesh was accused of rape by the police. However, the actor and CPM MLA quickly obtained a temporary release from custody. In addition to Mukesh, the Kochi police have accused actor-producer Maniyanpilla Raju and actor Edavela Babu of rape, while the cantonment police have arrested actor Jayasurya for insulting a woman’s modesty. A second FIR has been filed against Jayasurya after receiving a complaint from a female artist.
Following the recording of the complainant’s statement, the complaint was filed. Thiruvananthapuram has received a filed complaint, which will be moved to the Thodupuzha Police Station. Several women from the Malayalam film industry came forward with allegations of sexual harassment following the release of the Hema Committee report.
The Kerala Police told ANI that a second FIR was registered against actor Jayasurya under 354, 354A(A1)(I) 354D IPC. Following the release of the Hema Committee report, several women from the Malayalam film industry reported incidents of sexual harassment.
Another FIR has been registered against Actor Jayasurya on the complaint of an actress, u/s 354, 354A(A1)(I) 354D IPC. FIR has been registered in Thiruvananthapuram and will be transferred to Thodupuzha Police Station: Kerala Police
