Salman Khan has recently shared his suspicion that gangster, Lawrence Bishnoi was the mastermind behind the gunshots fired at his Mumbai residence a few months back, with an intent of targeting him and his family.
A few months back, two men opened fire outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy apartment in Mumbai. The matter immediately came into the limelight police made its arrest. Now, Salman Khan has finally opened up on the matter and said that he believed that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi orchestrated the firing outside his home with the intent to kill him and his family.
Salman Khan has given a statement, which is a part of the police investigation and the chargesheet. The actor recorded his statement by the anti-extortion cell of Mumbai Crime Branch last month. Now, in an exclusive report by India Today, Salman Khan revealed that he and his family have been receiving threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members for years. He also mentioned that he has advised his family members and relatives to remain ‘alert at all times. The actor also said that when the attack happened, he was sleeping at his home.
Salman Khan’s Statement in Chargesheet
“I heard a cracker-like sound. Then, at around 4.55 am, the police bodyguard said that two people on a bike had fired from a weapon at the Galaxy Apartment’s first-floor balcony. There had been attempts to hurt me and my family prior to this as well. I have learnt that Lawrence Bishnoi has taken responsibility for the attack from social media. So, I believe that it is the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who have carried out the firing on my balcony,” the statement read.
Salman revealed that later that day, he got to know that it was Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi, who took responsibility for the attack through a Facebook post.
“Earlier also, Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members in an interview talked about killing me and my relatives. So, I believe that Lawrence Bishnoi, with the help of his gang members carried out the firing incident when my family members were sleeping inside and planning to kill me and my family members so they carried out the attack.”
What was the Matter?
On June 4, a four-member crime branch team recorded the statements of Salman Khan and his brother Arbaaz Khan. An official noted that the actor’s statement took nearly four hours, while his brother’s took over two hours. Salman Khan recounted multiple instances of threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang. In his statement, the actor mentioned that in 2022, his father, Salim Khan, discovered a letter threatening their family on a bench opposite their apartment building.
“After that, in March 2023, an email was received on my official email of an employee in my team threatening me and my family from Lawrence Bishnoi. In this regard, a case was registered by my team member at Bandra police station,” the statement signed by the actor read.
After the incident, Salman has asked family and other relatives to stay on alert all the time.
