Gordon Ramsay’s ‘rich’ chocolate mousse takes 10 minutes to prepare and tastes incredible

Gordon Ramsay’s chocolate and honeycomb mousse is his easiest recipe yet, and is a delicious dessert to serve guests or as a tasty treat for yourself

Chocolate mousse is a classic dessert which is perfect to make over Easter weekend for loved ones or to use up any chocolate eggs.

This mouth-watering dessert takes less than 10 minutes to prepare before it sets in the fridge for around 20 minutes.

Stacked with rich chocolate with homemade custard and topped with honeycomb, this recipe is “ideal” for entertaining if you have guests over according to the legendary chef.

All the ingredients are simple and can easily be bought at a supermarket, as honeycomb can often be found in most baking sections.

Instructions: 

To begin, add a little water to a saucepan and bring to a simmer on medium heat.

Add the cream and vanilla extract in a food mixer or bowl and whisk until it is a thick consistency.

Break the chocolate into small pieces and place in the microwave on the highest setting in 20-second bursts until fully melted. Alternatively, you can heat in a bowl over a saucepan filled with simmering water on the stove.

Put the egg yolk, coffee granules and egg yolks into a heatproof bowl along with three tablespoons of boiling water, then stir to combine.

Place the bowl over bowl over a pan on simmering water and continue to whisk until the mixture has a custard-like consistency.

Whisk in the cooled melted chocolate and cream, then fold in the honeycomb pieces. Pour the mixture into chilled glasses and place in the fridge to set for 20 to 30 minutes.

Your delicious chocolate mousse is now ready. Sprinkle over any leftover honeycomb pieces to decorate and serve.
