BUSKERS across Glasgow could be fined or have their instruments removed amid a new police crackdown.
It comes as a council survey launched a survey on busking after the local authority regularly receives complaints about “nuisance” street performing.
New signs encouraging good behaviour from buskers in the city are set to be installed.
Police are also set to carry out days of action through the summer to resolve issues raised by the public through engagement, rather than enforcement.

The council has a voluntary code of conduct for buskers, while the police has legal powers to move on a performer or confiscate equipment.

One in 20 people who replied were business owners.
Council officials reported that the majority of people who replied to the survey believe busking is worthwhile.
