Amid Monday’s NFL free-agent frenzy, Giants general manager Joe Schoen is looking to make a massive trade swing.
The Giants are having trade talks with the Carolina Panthers about star pass-rusher Brian Burns, according to multiple reports.
No deal is in place, and the two parties would have to agree on a long-term contract for a trade to go through, those reports said.
Burns, 25, has 46 career sacks in 80 games across five seasons with the Panthers, who drafted him No. 16 overall in 2019.
The Panthers placed the franchise tag on Burns, who had eight sacks in 2023, after the two sides were unable to come to an agreement on a long-term contract.
This is a developing story; check back for updates.
