Full list of players likely leaving in January

Kaizer Chiefs will be releasing even more players in the next transfer window in January.

Kaizer Chiefs are already planning ahead to the 2025 PSL transfer window.

So, as many as four players are heading out of Naturena. In fact, some of these men only just survived the recent transfer window due to external circumstances.

LIST OF CHIEFS PLAYERS LIKELY LEAVING IN JANUARY

  • Thatayaone Ditlhokwe
  • Aden McCarthy
  • Christian Saille

Initially, Chiefs had to release a foreign based player.

However, Nasreddine Nabi and Amakhosi took a smart approach to buy time. Instead of releasing a player, they opted to deregister Edmilson Dove who is currently injured.

Meaning, he is not a part of the current Chiefs squad.

It will be interesting to see if he returns to the Soweto giants when he is fit again. If he does, then one of these Chiefs players will be forced to leave.

AMAKHOSI STARS SAVED BY EXTERNAL FACTORS

In fact, both men were expected to leave.

Thankfully, Ditlhokwe survived the cut due to Dove’s injury. Whilst, Saile stayed due to Chiefs not signing a striker in time.

Likewise, McCarthy was one of the Amakhosi stars informed that he is not a part of Nabi’s plans. However, the injury to Dove has seen him survive the cut until January. However, he is unlikely to earn much game time with new recruits Inacio Miguel and Rushwin Dortley preferred at the back.

NEW ERA UNDER NABI

So far, we have seen the Cross, Miguel and Sirino impress in starts for Chiefs under Nabi.

Meaning, all three men are set to be regular starters under Nabi. Especially, if they continue on the run of form that they are currently on. As mentioned, the new defenders will push Ditlhokwe and Zitha Kwinika down the pecking order.

Meanwhile, the return of Njabulo Blom and the impressive signing of Sirino will see the midfield battle intensify with Lehlogonole Matlou, Pule Mmodi and Tebogo Potsane now further down the pecking order. Therefore, Yusuf Maart, Sirino, Mduduzi Shabalala, Samkelo Zwane and Sibongiseni Mthethwa are expected to prominently feature in the Amakhosi midfield this season.
