THE MISSING CROWN PRINCE
EXO’s Suho makes a comeback as an actor in The Missing Crown Prince. He plays the titular crown prince Yi Geon who is kidnapped by the same woman who is destined to be his wife. Hong Ye Ji play Choi Myung Joon, the woman who kidnaps the crown prince. As the royal court descends into a frenzy to find the crown prince, and as the crown prince tries to piece everything together, the fans can expect a humorous treat mixed with a good dose of mystery. The Missing Crown Prince was earlier scheduled to premiere in March but now it will be available from April 13 onwards. International fans can watch the show on Viu and Viki.
Get ready for a new Yeon Sang Ho horror entertainer with Parasyte: The Grey. This drama is an adaptation of the Japanese drama Parasyte. It is set in the same world as the original, but the characters are different in the Korean version. Jeon So Nee stars as Jung Soo In, a young woman who is partially infected by the parasite. She begins to weirdly co-habit with the alien. She joins hands with Seol Kang Woo (played by Ko Kyoo Hwan) to escape the human-eating aliens and the government’s task force which is out to destroy these creatures. Both of them have their own agenda at play, but they try to save themselves the best they can. Parasyte: The Grey is set to premiere on Netflix on April 5.
In Lovely Runner, Kim Hye Yoon plays Im Sol, a young woman whose life changed after the accident that left her paralysed. Since then idol Ryu Sun Jae and his music is her only safe haven. But tragedy strikes when Ryu Sun Jae (played by Byeon Woo Seok) passes away too. One day, Im Sol wakes up 15 years in the past. She sees that as a chance to rewrite her and Sun Jae’s destinies. Lovely Runner is based on the webtoon The Best of Tomorrow by Kim Bbang. It is slated to premiere on April 8.
Han Hyo Joo has developed a niche for herself after Moving. She returns to the small screen with Blood Free. This drama is a sci-fi dystopian series. It tells the story of a biotech company which develops an artificially cultured blood free meat. Han Hyo Joo stars as Yoon Ja Yu, the head behind this company. Ju Ji Hoon joins the ranks as Woo Chae Woon, an ex-soldier with a history of his own. Blood Free is slated to premiere on April 10 on Disney+ Hotstar.
There is something about Lee Je Hoon in investigative crime thrillers. Be it Taxi Driver or Signal, the actor has done a wonderful role as a messiah to right the wrong. He returns to the crime thriller genre with Chief Detective 1958. This show serves as the prequel to the hit 80s show Chief Detective. Lee Je Hoon stars in the titular role in this show where he solves petty crimes but at the same time also goes up against corrupt practices.
SF9’s Zuho is making a comeback to the small screen with Under the Gun. In this show, he plays Go Gun, the role of a son of a professional poker player. When his family is threatened, he must resort to playing professional poker. Jo Soo Min plays Cha Se Young, a transfer student who helps Go Gun take on the challenge. Under the Gun is set to premiere on April 12 on Lifetime.
Goodbye Earth is based on the Japanese novel The Fool at the End of the World by author Kotaro Isaka. An asteroid is going to hit the earth in the next 200 days and there is nothing anyone can do to avoid that from happening. How the citizens cope with this fact forms the crux of this story. Yoo Ah In and Ahn Eun Jin star in the lead in this drama. Following Yoo Ah In’s legal troubles, the drama faced quite a delay but now it is slated to release on Netflix on April 26.
