The month of July 2024 has a slew of promising new stories from the Korean entertainment world. Song Kang will finally grace our screens once again in Sweet Home season three whereas Rain will star as a mysterious bodyguard in Red Swan. Jang Na Ra and Nam Ji Hyun will engage in a battle of values, ideals and law in Good Partner. Kim Soo Hyun is also making a comeback with another romance drama. Let’s take a look at all K-dramas set to premiere in July 2024.
From Song Kang starrer Sweet Home 3 to Chae Jeong Yeop & Kim So Hyun-led Serendipity’s Embrace, 7 K-dramas to watch in July 2024
1. RED SWAN
Our beloved Rain ‘oppa’ is making a comeback in a thriller drama this July. He will be seen in Red Swan alongside Kim Ha Neul. Rain will be seen as Do Yoon, a body guard to Kim Ha Neul’s Oh Wan Soo, a former pro-golfer. She now runs a charity and is married to an heir of the Hwain Group. Do Yoon has an agenda of his own and Wan Soo discovers shocking secrets about her in-laws soon. What happens next and in between forms the crux of this story. Red Swan is set to premiere on July 3 on Disney+ Hotstar.
2. THE AUDITORS
Shin Ha Kyun stars as a frightful auditor Shin Cha Il, who leads the audit team at JU Construction. JU Construction is notorious for being corrupt. He is joined by Goo Han Su (played by Lee Myung Ha). Han Soo is a newbie and aspires to get a quick promotion and head overseas. But working with Shin Cha Il is not a comfortable ride. Then we also have Jin Goo as Hwang Dae Woong, the third son and vice president at JU. He has his own game at play though. The Auditors is set to premiere on July 6.
3. GOOD PARTNER
Jang Na Ra makes a much anticipated comeback with Good Partner. She plays the role of Cha Eun Kyung, a veteran and revered lawyer at Daejung Law Firm with 17 years of experience under her belt. She is a divorce lawyer and eventually ends up having to face a divorce of her own. Joining her is Nam Ji Hyun as Han Yoo Ri, a newbie lawyer with idealistic values. The two clash at the workplace but will they find a common ground? Find all about it when Good Partner premieres on July 12.
4. SERENDIPITY’S EMBRACE
Kim So Hyun is back with another romance drama named Serendipity’s Embrace. She stars as Lee Hong Ju, an animation producer. Her faith in love goes away after facing a heartbreaking breakup. Paired alongside her is Chae Jeong Hyeop as Kang Hu Young, a financial advisor who had a crush on Hong Ju in their young age. He returns to South Korea again after a while and meets Hong Ju again. Serendipity’s Embrace is adapted from the webtoon Is It Fate? Written by Nam Ji Eun and Kim In Ho.
5. TAROT
Tarot is an anthology series in seven parts. Seven characters are trapped in curses after finding tarot cards. These curses are based on the choices they have made. Cho Yeo Jeong, Park Ha Sun, Ko Kyu Pil and others consist of the ensemble cast. Tarot was first premiered at Cannes. The drama will premiere on July 15 on U+ Mobile TV.
6. SWEET HOME 3
One of the most anticipated horror thriller dramas is finally making a comeback! Song Kang-starrer Sweet Home is returning with its third season on Netflix. This will be the finale season. The story will pick up where it left off in season two. The characters are still living in the stadium and are facing a new threat on the horizon. Actors Jinyoung, Go Min Si and Lee Do Hyun will also join the cast. Sweet Home 3 is set to premiere on July 19.
7. NO WAY OUT: THE ROULETTE
A bounty hunter drama that you didn’t know you needed is coming your way! No Way Out: The Roulette follows Kim Kook Ho (played by Yoo Jae Myung), a criminal with a 20 billion won bounty. People descend into chaos upon hearing the lucrative offer. Baek Joong Sik (played by Cho Jin Woong) is tasked with protecting this sought after criminal. No Way Out: Roulette is set to premiere on July 31 on U+ Mobile TV.
